Edlen Electrical Exhibition Services, the nation’s largest independent electrical contractor in the convention, trade show and temporary event industry, is pleased to announce promotions and moves among members of the Executive Team.
Congratulations to Zach Wetterling who has recently been promoted to Executive Vice President. Zach joined Edlen full-time in 2018 and has been responsible for the day-to-day operations in Edlen’s Mandalay Bay office. Zach is a former attorney who received his Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law and his Master of Business Administration from Lee Business School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has had the opportunity to work with the Edlen team on many large events such as Super Zoo, International Surfaces Event, Black Hat WPPI, MAGIC, SupplySide West, Oracle MCX/MBX, CONEXPO-CON/AGG and Microsoft Inspire + Ready.
Jim Ness will assume the role of President. Since joining Edlen in 2017, Jim has played an integral role in Edlen’s event production, labor management and oversight of event operations. A University of Michigan graduate and Las Vegas native, Jim is a second-generation contributor to the convention industry in Las Vegas, following in the footsteps of his father Howard Ness, who pioneered Las Vegas Convention Services, Inc., the original Las Vegas general service contracting company. Jim is an active member of the Las Vegas community, having supported such philanthropies as Opportunity Village, Safe Nest, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the American Heart Association’s Annual Heart Walk. Jim is a past Chairman of the Convention Services Advisory Council and served for 25 years on the Executive Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of American Las Vegas Area Council. Jim is also a past President of the Advisory Board for the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism at Valley High School.
Jim Wetterling will continue to serve as Edlen’s CEO. Jim joined Edlen Electrical Exhibition Services in 1987 after practicing intellectual property law for more than a decade in Miami, Florida. Jim attended the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and his Juris Doctorate, in addition to coaching the Division I Soccer Program for three years. Jim has overseen Edlen’s entire operation since 1994 as the company has grown exponentially nationwide. He holds unlimited Master Electrician Contractor licenses in the states of Alabama, California, Florida, and Nevada and will continue to mentor and grow Edlen’s team.
