The Los Angeles Convention Center releases a monthly newsletter that features a profile of a member of the LACC team. This month, one of the featured employees was Edlen's Foreman Jason Turgasen.

How long have you worked at the LACC and how did you get into your field?

I’ve been with Edlen for almost 6 years. I bounce around to different locations, but I’d say at least 80% of my time is spent at the LACC. I used to work in construction and work on the same site for 6-8 months at a time; in 2005, I started working as an electrician. I much prefer working with tradeshows because it’s something different every day.

What is your favorite event at the LACC?
MusiCares Person of the Year is hands down my favorite event. Tom Petty’s was the best one I’ve seen and Dolly Parton’s was a highlight too. We are on standby so we get to see everything including the rehearsals, which is cool because it’s a unique opportunity to see the people that I grew up listening to in a relaxed setting.

What is your favorite sports team?
I’ve been a fan of the Green Bay Packers my whole life. As a kid, I didn’t get a choice because my grandfather has owned season tickets for at least 20 years. I became a shareholder a few years ago when they did the expansion to Lambeu Field.

What do you do with your free time?
I like to camp and fish with my family. We also have a lot of animals: 1 dog, 1 cat, 2 snakes and 2 lizards. We’re getting chickens and goats soon; my daughters want to get the fainting goats.
